Great run this morning w. H around her neighborhood inc. Foremaster.  Felt great! Cruised right up foremaster, great energy.  Last week was my BD and I celebrated by registering for the Marathon.  Considering I've been running for 7 yrs. (off & on) I should have reg. a long time ago! I'm pumped.  I want to lose 10 lbs by June 1st.  Realize that's ambitious, but if I shoot for about 2 lbs a week I should get close.  I'm at my heaviest and its depressing! Clothes that were lose last summer are snug. So I'll be logging my weight everyday to keep me in line & accountable.

Went to weight class at the gym this morning.  Hope to get in a walk or short run later today.

3 mi. in afternoon.  Wow- the heat really does get to me! Today was even a "cooler" day, probably in the high 70's or low 80's when I ran, but I got tired so much faster than running in the cool mornings.  Felt good to be out there though, with my new IPOD shuffle that hubby gave me for BD.  Good run.  First time in a long time I fit in 2 workouts in 1 day. Good way to start a new month!

Weight 128.8 (same as yesterday, guess I should be happy that at least the scale didn't go up!) Ate good yesterday until hubby persuaded me to go out for mexican.  Ate too many empty carbs (yeah you know it- chips & dip)

I'm off to do hill repeats w/ H & B this morning.  Just took some chocolate GU.  Want to see how my body handles it- never have taken the stuff before but B swears by it , helps her race performance.  If I like it I may use it Sat. during the 1/2.

Body's a bit stiff from weight class this morning- the price to pay for not going to weight class for over a week.

Update after hill session.  Great run, took the hills well, felt energized.  I think it helps that I've been making a point to get in bed earlier the last couple nights. (10:30- that is early for me!) And I think there might be something to this GU stuff- maybe it was all psychological- but I felt good energy after eating one this morning....

128.4 lbs today.  Happy scale went down, but wish it went down faster! Hoping to see 128 or under tomorrow morning.

4 Miles w/ Heather around my neighborhood. Ran into Emily, that was fun, haven't seen her for years! Could've gone further, maybe should have done 5... Legs still stiff from weight class- hopefully won't be Sat. for the 1/2.  Getting pumped for 1/2.  Friend Buffy comes in town tomorrow for 1/2, excited to see her.  Tried using GU 2x now and like it, could get hooked on this stuff.  I really do feel more energy after taking it.

Weight today- 127.4 - yippee! 1st pound lost!!!! My challenge will be to keep it off through the weekend and not give myself a license to pig out after the 1/2

Ran Hurricane Half Today.  Great run! Felt great until mile 4/5, then a little tired.  Took some GU at this point, think it helped.  Loved mile 8 (I think it was this mile) downhill, felt like I was cruising.  Took some more GU (only 1/2 packet each time) at mile 10, had to take a potty break at this point too.  Was tired by mile 11 on, but pushed it because I really wanted to finish under 2 hrs! 1:55 would've been nice, but I'm just glad I came in BARELY under 2 hrs.

Thought the race was well run.  Didn't really notice if we started on time, I think it might've started a bit late, but didn't bother me. Nice that they had bonfires to keep us warm at start, could have used more porta potties at start.  Lots of aid stations which was great, I had something to sip at each one.  Didn't see a clock at finish which I really wanted to see! But had the runnercard results to take which I always like.  Massage at finish, lots of great food at finish- chocolate milk? Interesting... I was definately NOT in the mood for milk at finish.... Didn't notice if they were raffling anything at end? My kids were frozen from waiting around at finish for me, so we took off shortly after I finished.

The last 1/2 (and only 1/2 until today) that I had run was 5 yrs. ago.  Since then I've only run 5k & 10Ks.  So although my pace was much slower on this 1/2, I was happy overall.  Looking forward to the SG Marathon now and more long runs...
