1st night of sleep challenge. Lybi- I was tempted to write 9 hrs.  I went to bed at 12 and couldn't sleep past 8:30 even though I didn't have to get up until 9am! I tried laying there to go back to sleep, but just couldn't....Must've been the competition stress getting to me! ha, j/k...I'm going to have to train my body to sleep in better! (Now I gotta check your blog and see how you did!)

Very nice Sunday.  Great church meetings with many tributes to Pres. Hinckley.  Then a little Super Bowl partying at my brother's.  I know... some say no sports watching on Sundays... but we're just not that elevated (yet?) in my family!

I gotta log some good miles tomorrow, I ate quite a bit tonight watching that exciting game!

Day 2 of sleep challenge.  Ok- I feel guilty that I'm winning.  I'm not sure its fair stakes 'cause my kids are older.  Therefore they sleep through the night and can even get their own breakfast which allows me to be REALLY LAZY!! So I got nine hrs- bed at 10:30 and up at 7:30.  Which I think is good, except that I slept through an invite to be at the gym at 6am to run w/ Buff & Heather... oh twist my arm to stay in bed longer...

So- I gotta make up the miles today.  I'm about to go volunteer in Toby's class, then I will drive straight to the gym and run for an hour. We'll just have to call this a 2hr lunch break from working on mortgages at home. (Can you believe the streets are covered w/ snow & ice in St. George today?)

Got to the gym for 5 miles on the dreadmill.  The novelty of all the TV screens has worn off, 5 miles felt really long on the dreadmill today.  But I feel so great that I got the workout!

Ut-oh.  May have lost my lead today! Day 3 of sleep competition- 7hrs.  Went to weight lifting class this morning, no miles today.

Day 4 of sleep competition.  The LYBSTER is putting up a really good fight! Last night I logged almost 9 hrs, trying to take back the lead!

Will run 6 later today.

Yeah, the distance for today is pretty laughable.  I can blame it on work, kids & hubby- but I know I really just need to get a more committed attitude.  Anyway- snuck in the 2.15, hoping to get in a couple more later today- but the evening is looking hectic so we'll see.  I think all this sleep is interferring with workout time- LOL!

Ridiculous amount of sleep last night.  I ran to bed at 9pm thinking I'd be up at 5:30 for a run.  However- running partner bailed , so I slept until the last possible minute that I would have to get up and get kids ready for school on time (9pm-7:50)  SO- I think that MUST put me back in lead.  I'm glad we are changing the stakes for loser, we decided we just didn't feel good about dragging poor Sasha into it.  We are deciding on some other personal torture like house cleaning, long run or combination!

Goal- 6 miles today.  Didn't do it yesterday, must today for my sanity.  Tomorrow spin class, Sat. long run.

Happy to report that I did it- got out there and got some miles in.  Inspired by a quote on Benn's blog (coined by our own Sasha) something like.."Just get out there and let the run happen"...Ah, I feel so much better now... 6.10, 9:36 av pace, ran for a couple minutes shy of 1 hr, need to get it up to an hour.

Christi

How's everybody doing on the Hinckley challenge? I'm hanging in there, but should probably up it by a page a day.  If anybody doesn't know what I'm talking about, check it out at www.hinckleychallenge.com !

Finally got a sec to blog.  I went to spin class today.  Awesome workout as usual.  Looking forward to running w/ the "Sole Sisters" tomorrow.  Gotta run now (busy day w/ lots of mortgages going on, kids' primary party & other kid's activities...) but looking forward to checking your blogs tonight!

Nice long run w/ Sole Sisters today.  They were actually going 12 mi., I had to cut it short to get to Toby's BB practice.  Still, good run.  9:22 pace.  Glad I met with them so that I could be motivated to go longer than I would've alone. This was probably my longest run since Painter's 1/2.  I was hoping for a training run today in the double digits, but due to a late start waiting for all the sisters to arrive, the niner will have to do.  Let me tell ya, this is a cool group of women.  Most are in their early 40's and all getting ready to run Boston (again)  They are a hoot.  One of them runs by every fast food / drive thru window and car wash stall and looks for lose change.  She's up to $100 she's collected on runs.... Crazy? maybe... but fun!

Last night was the final night of sleep competition (I think?) I didn't log too many Zzzz's  last night so maybe Lybi caught up?  I'm glad its over.  I decided too much sleep makes me a LAZY gal.  Ready to get back to my 7 & 7.5 hr. nights!

Well- off for some more family fun (watch Arielle's dance and hopefully go out & grab a bite to eat)

Have a great weekend everyone!
