treadmill at gym around 2 pm.  thought I'd be really tired this time of day, but felt really good.  did some tempo work, held it at 8:20 pace for awhile, but mostly ran about 9:20 average. kept incline 50/50 between flat & .5.

8:20 is a pretty good clip. Great job today. Plus any time you can stand being on the treadmill longer than half an hour you deserve bonus effort points.

That is a good speed! My treadmill at home doesn't show pace, what do you usually set the treadmill at?

Michelle- To be honest I'm not very good at using all the treadmill functions. I usually run outside. I also usually run with a partner so when I run alone on treadmill I like to just listen to my body and let it set the pace- and challenge myself with some faster running. Yesterday I warmed up at about 5.2 and just kept increasing the speed every few minutes when my body felt ready. I held it at 6.5 for awhile and eventually got up to 7.2, held for awhile then came back down. I need to be better next time at noting how long I held those speeds. Thanks for the question & how is YOUR running going?

I'm with you, I usually avoid the treadmill becasue I get mentally "done" so quickly. And I feel like I always go so much slower than when I'm outside. That's why I wondered what a 9.00-8.20 min pace on the treadmill was. My running is going pretty good, as of today. Yesterday I thought it would be a good day to hang it all up. We just got back from a cruise and it did take it's toll on my body. But today things were much better so I guess I won't quit just yet! You mentioned that your husband was a nurse, Does he work at the hospital? I used to work down there but it's been about 11 yrs. ago.
