Christi - if your weight training makes you cut the mileage, it will more likely increase the chance of a running injury. Regarding WW - as I said earlier, all you need to do to improve your diet is to start full disclosure on the blog of what you eat. Very simple structure, requires a deeper level of internal motivation to submit to, and therefore will be more effective.

I also recommend a different approach towards your weight - see is as a side effect of proper diet and training rather than a goal in and of itself. You can take two individuals of the same height and bone density each weighing the same, but their health levels could be very different. Supposedly ideal weight can be faked without reaching real health benefits and there are a lot of people out there that would be happy to take your money to help you "achieve" it. Not everything that reduces your weight is good, and not everything that increases it is bad. However, it is nearly impossible to fake your way through a fast 5 K without a quality improvement in your health.

Hey Christi! I totally respect the truth in what Sasha is saying about health. However, I still think WW is helpful--especially for getting portion sizes under control and in finding good healthy food choices.

If I were you, I would definitely start on a Friday morning over a Monday morning bc that way you can be a little tiny bit more free with the weekend, then be really good all week, and still have a great weigh-in.

Whatever you do, I'm sure you will get where you want to be!

BTW you must really be busting those weights in those classes! I ought to do a little weight training every so often. Right now I've been counting lifting my kids up all the time. *Snicker*

Lybi, Christi - due to my background I am strongly opposed to paying somebody to fix one's attitude. Perhaps because at the time I needed an attitude fix the most I had no money to pay somebody to do it. I think the most powerful way to break a bad habit is the concept of Karl Maeser's circle. Put me behind the high impenetrable walls and lock me up behind the toughest bars with the strongest lock, and still I might find a way to escape. But draw a circle around me and get my word of honor, and I will not cross it for anything.

I imagine both of you already know how to eat right for the most part. Most Americans do. For the most part it is a matter of doing it. The most effective way is to make a promise to yourself of the covenant strength, the level of Karl Maeser's circle, the type that Zoram made to Nephi. No wonder Nephi says "our fears did cease concerning him". You promise to yourself that you will not put anything in your mouth that you believe to be not in the best interest of your body. Then you see wonders, and you've saved yourself some extra time to train and some extra money for other causes.

Sasha- I am inspired by your strength. I hope I can get to the point where I can make that promise to myself to not put anything in my mouth that is not in the best interest of my body.
