Up at 4am to stash our gatorade along the run.  10.4 miles to AZ border & back, 1/2 asphalt, 1/2 dirt.  Love running the dirt, feels so much better on my legs & feet.  My inside right ankle did start to tweak after 8 miles, but not really painful, just aware of it.  Need to keep an eye on that.  Had 1/2 pack of GU at 5 mile mark, really helped me finish strong. 10:57 average pace, typical for our long runs.

WOW! I'm so impressed 10.4 is awesome! I'm really jealous that you have a running partner, I think that I would be much more likely to do longer runs if I had someone to go with me and keep me going. But I kinda like being able to just go when I wake up or whenever I feel like it without having to make plans either, so I guess there's pros-cons! Our cruise was great! We didn't take our kids, it was my step-father-in-laws 80th b-day celebration so they took children and spouses 26 people total! it was great! We have taken our kids before though and they loved it! Hat's off to your husband going back to school! what a career change. What would he like to go on and do? I only work 2 nights a week, would love to go to just one but we have a daughter that needs the double insurance so now I'm stuck with 2. I don't know how you do what you do, I couldn't sit still all day if I tried. But maybe if I got up early and ran 10 miles, I'd probley be glued to my chair! Good Job!

What? You went to Arizona and you didn't stop to visit? JK. Congrats! Up at 4 am and running a half marathon just for kicks ... you are officially amazing. Bet you were nice and mellow the rest of the day. Keep up the great running!

You can't find someone to run with you on the 4th? Do you usually have a buddy during races? That sounds so great! I really need someone there to help me pace myself--I have no clue what speed I'm going when I try to pick it up. Maybe with time. For this race I'll just strap a refridgerator to my arm, I mean, take the Garmin (same thing!)
