I can't believe I'm not sore from my 12 miler yesterday.  That gets me really excited for Sat! (or is the pain just waiting until tomorrow to kick in?)

I'm trying to figure out my Gold, Silver, Bronze goals for this race.  My 1/2 PR is 1:59 at Hurricane 1/2 last year.  I really didn't want to ever run a 1/2 over 2 hrs. again- BUT I was in better shape then.  From my struggles with pace in recent runs it would take a miracle to get under 2:00 this Sat. But MAIN goal for Sat. is have fun running with you bloggies- I'm thinking:

GOLD: anything under 2 hrs.  SILVER: 2:05   BRONZE: 2:10

(subject to change due to peer pressure -....hee hee..)

UPDATE:  The above entry I thought I was putting under Sunday- oops.  Anyway- today MONDAY I ran a 5.68 foremaster loop w/ Buff & Heather.  I could've been a bit longer, like 6 would've been good- but I'm pretty happy that I'm not sore and our pace was 9:17 av.  I'm still loving the new Mizunos.  Getting psyched for Sat!

Christi,

I am so excited we are going to have us a little bloggie crew racing in just 6 short days! It looks like you, Michelle, Lybi and I all have similar goals. I won't be at the blog party on Friday night so I will have to figure out a way to touch bases with all of you. So glad you are running it! Peer pressure can be a good thing!

From Kim on Sun, Jan 13, 2008 at 15:30:55

That was from me up there. I forgot to write my whole name.

From Jody on Sun, Jan 13, 2008 at 22:42:01

Great goals!! Most important, the group of you will have a great time!

From Michelle on Sun, Jan 13, 2008 at 22:44:44

Sounds like you are doing great! No soreness means that the half was meant to be!! You'll probably PR and totally kick butt because you haven't had too much time to over think the whole thing! I'm glad that we all have about the same goals and hope that you and Kim can pull ne through! So what is the plan for the party and have we posted where we are going? Pot luck, anything in particular or do you know? Can't wait!

From amanda lusk on Mon, Jan 14, 2008 at 00:04:24

SO I have the same goals as you guys too. I don't want to run another half marathon over 2 hours but I am not in my best shape right now. So who knows what I am going to finish in. I can not wait to see you guys again at the party on Friday!!!

From jtshad on Mon, Jan 14, 2008 at 11:40:55

Great goals, you can do it. Good luck at Painter's.

From Lybi on Mon, Jan 14, 2008 at 12:07:34

Oh geez, you are the one that is intimidating me, girl! 2:00 is 9:09 pace, and that's really close to what you run all the time anyway. I, on the other hand basically NEVER run that pace unless I am in a race, or doing one of my once-a-month tempo runs.

It will be great to see you, Amanda, you are definitely invited to run with us! If you have to go faster, though, I for sure understand.

From Kim on Mon, Jan 14, 2008 at 12:43:37

My "one for all and all for one" motto means this to me....If 'one',(probably me), has to let the 'all' go ahead, then 'all' feel free to move on! If 'all' has to let the 'one' with the gusto, (probably not me), go ahead, by all means, 'one' move on! I think it will be great to be with a group as much as possible, but I hope everyone will feel free to run the best that they can. Does that make any sense at all? How many are thinking the 2 - 2:10 mark? I know of Christi, Michelle, Lybi, Amanda and myself. Anyone I'm missing?

From andee on Mon, Jan 14, 2008 at 13:46:46

You are ready and you are going to have a great race on Saturday!!! Besides having a great run you will be able to enjoy it with great people! Enjoy the week.

From Christi on Mon, Jan 14, 2008 at 15:58:37

Thanks guys - you're so sweet!! Kim- I'm TOTALLY jiving with your "one for all and all for one" mentality. It would be nice to all stay together- but from my (limited) race experience I find everyone usually ends up spread out. But hey- our goals are close so if we all stay together that would be COOL. I just want everyone to feel free to run their own race!!
