Involuntary longer run- got lost! I was going out for a 4-5 miler and ended up not finding the street I thought would take me back.  Thanks to a friendly walker, I was pointed in the right direction.  I made a little loop back, it was nicer than the out & back I would've ended up doing when I realized the original imaginary street didn't exist! I'm glad I got lost, made me run further! My calves were really tight today, had to stop in the first mile & stretch.  My pace was a bit slower too.  Mostly that's because I wanted an easy run, but I also slowed down when I realized I was lost- for awhile I was looking for streets and looking back comtemplating if I would go on or turn back.. hee hee... This run kept me on my toes- busy road and not much shoulder.

My sister & her family of 6 come to visit tonight.  I think I'll walk w/ her tomorrow and run again on Saturday afternoon.  That's the plan anyway!

Oh yeah, and I did get in bed earlier last night.  Not quite my 10:30 goal, but better.  I think I have 1 leg firmly on the wagon now- still trying to hoist the rest of myself on, getting closer....

I don't think you fell of the wagon at all! I'm just not sure who was driving that wagon this morning that got you lost! (JK) But hey, when oppertunity knocks....you are the winner with the extra miles!! Good job adding on, even if by accident! Have fun with the fam in town!

I am glad to now I am not the only one who gets lost. I tend to choose places like Lake Powelle and Disney Land to get lost while running. But am also known to get lost running at home as well.

Great job!! You are doing fantastic! Way to set an example for the rest of us and get sleep!!

From Lybi on Thu, Jan 03, 2008 at 19:19:24

Running lost, eh? Good job on your run--sounds like it was an adventure!

Good job with your sleep and preparing to have a big ol' house full of love! That is one of my New Year's resolutions--to become a better hostess. Have fun!

From Mik'L on Thu, Jan 03, 2008 at 22:06:41

Good job Christi! I was going to try and get you to come to running club but I saw that you already ran. Plus you are just getting too fast for me! I don't know for sure what my deal is for Painters, but one of us St. Georgians should probably try and plan something for Friday night, don't ya think? (that means I'm nominating you :)) Do you know anything about reserving the back room at Pasta Factory? Maybe we could just do that?

From laura on Thu, Jan 03, 2008 at 23:03:56

I thought I was going to get lost while I was running around my brother in law's house this week. But unfortunately I found my way pretty quick and didn't add much mileage on. (hee, hee) Is that good or bad?

I didn't realize you were going to do the 5K at Painters instead of the 1/2 that Lybi is happily looking forward to. Do you have a goal set?

From Christi on Fri, Jan 04, 2008 at 11:07:15

Thanks guys! Lybi- I'm sure you're an awesome hostess- you're so much fun!! Mik'L- tell me about running club?! How much are you running with them & when? Maybe I should make that part of my regular routine! And I'm not too fast, you're too kind! I called the Pasta Factory, its $10 a person for all your can eat pasta, salad & drink if we get the back room. I'm just afraid that's more than people want to spend? I like your idea though. What do you think? I'm going to make some other calls to see if I can find a conference room or somewhere that we can bring food into. I'll let you know what I find out! Laura- Yes, I'm being wimpy (not tough like Lybi & Michelle) I'm only doing the 5k, my gold is to beat 25:00, silver 26:00, bronze 27:00... I'm in bronze shape AT BEST right now!

From Mik'L on Fri, Jan 04, 2008 at 12:52:22

Christi- I think the $10 for all you can eat sounds pretty good. Maybe we could check and see if there is a kids price? Renting a place AND bringing all the pasta would be pricey. I would have Sasha post something about Pasta Factory for $10/person and see how many RSVP. There aren't quite as many people coming to Painters as there were at the marathon. We had about 60, but I bet only 30 or so will show up for this?

From marciej on Fri, Jan 04, 2008 at 13:30:48

I think Pasta Factory sounds like a great idea, $10 sounds pretty decent to me.

From Christi on Sat, Jan 05, 2008 at 22:04:05

Mik'L & Marcie- I agree w/ you! I want it to be easy & enjoyable. I know it was lots of work & money for you last time Mik'L to put the party together and I appreciate it. I'm all for Pasta Factory. I posted it in the discussion forum, we'll see what kind of feedback we get. But I think Pasta Factory is the route we should go, we can kick back relax, hang out and leave the work to the restaurant!
