Had to drag myself out of bed to meet the Sole Sisters for a Sat. long run.  Don't know why, but lately running feels like a chore some days.  I don't want it to be that way! So I'm trying to mix it up with runs later in the day, etc.  Need to see that sunshine sometimes and enjoy this beautiful fall season.  Anyway- REALLY glad I went!  These girls are almost all BQ runners so they really force me to step it up.  Our average time was 9:50 with a couple stops. I know our pace was closer to 9:30 when we were trucking along and not making stops (had a water break and had a friend meet up w/ us- so 2 stops).  This run got my 25+ miles for the week in, so that's another plus.

After the run I went to the gym and signed up for 6 weeks of personal training.  I'm really excited! I've been thinking about doing it for awhile, but the price discouraged me.  Then one of the girls on the run told me about a special the gym was running- so I took the plunge.  I'll be going in on Mondays late in the morning to meet w/ the trainer, then I'll go back on Thurs. and do the program alone.  I think this is what I really need and I don't think it will interfere w/ running.  My body is just going through some mid 30's changes that are no fun and I really want to tone up.  I love running, but it just doesn't address everything for me.

For not wanting to run, you sure showed up today, great job! Sounds like you had a great group to go with and they were pretty motivating. I have had the same feelings about running the last two days myself, maybe there is something in the air? I'm hoping Monday to be back into a normal routine and things will feel more natural as far as running goes. I think that's way cool about the personal training you signed up for, I've always wanted to do that. I'm sure you'll see the benefits in your running also. You'll have to keep me informed and drop any hints if you learn some good ones. Have a good rest of the weekend!

That has to be the BEST costume!!!! I love it!

Great run, too!! I'm always amazed when you or Michelle say that you had a hard time feeling motivated, but then I look at the miles you ran and I'm so impressed!

Thanks for asking about my daughter's gait analysis; it apparently went well. We won't get the results for about 3 weeks, unfortunately. So, for the time being she's still in her current braces, which go up to the top of her calves - both feet. They help her step correctly, although the primary purpose is to maintain range of motion. Because of her cerebral palsy, her mucles are overly tight. It's really hard to flex her feet to a simple 90 degree angle from her legs, so she's been in braces since she was a baby. She's a trooper about it, though. You'll see a lot more tears when you announce that she's done watching Blues Clues!! lol

I do not want to run half the days, that is normal. When you are in bed, you never want to run.
