4.7 mile foremaster (hilly) loop w/ Buff & Heather.  Average pace 9:47.  Felt fast, but I guess those hills slowed us down a little.  Running w/ Buff really makes me step it up, she's fast! I was a little disappointed when I clocked the run after and it was only 4.7, I was hoping for 5 miles at least.  Sure do hope Santa brings that Garmin so I can know these things while still running and not in my car driving the route- boy am I old school!

Later today went to gym for 1st mtg. with personal trainer. My early Christmas present to myself!  She weighed & measured me, asked my goals and we talked about healthy eating.  She's going to make a plan for me and I go again Wed. to start it.  I'm excited! This trainer won 1st place in the Utah bodybuilding (fitness) competition and 5th in the nation.  So I think she really knows her stuff and she looks great without looking bulky or manly.  I should firm up some in 6 weeks I hope?!

Great job with the trainer! It's so hard to fit in strength training while running so much, but it's really important, especially for women. I'm always happy with the visible results when I strength train, but it's so hard to pump iron on a regular basis. Good luck! Six pack, here you come!

Hey that sounds so awesome! I bet you are going to learn some really cool stuff. Please share! I am struggling big time with reigning in the whole food thing.

Hope you get your Garmin. You definitely will put it to good use! You strike me as a "free spirit", and it is so liberating to just be able to go out and run wherever you want.

Thanks Shauna- the gym was running a special on personal training that I couldn't resist. Now we'll see if I can stick with the plan! Lybi- Wed. I go get all my paperwork- menu ideas and workout plan. I hope to post some good eating ideas then. I just read your post about sleep & food- I agree they have to be related. When I don't sleep enough I reach for the sugar. I'm starting to try to allow myself naps, which I've always felt guilty doing in the past- but I think it really helps me to not overeat if I'll get enough sleep. And with that Goodnight! (its 9:30, I'm off to bed- early for me, but hopefully it will become more of the norm)

From Michelle on Tue, Nov 06, 2007 at 01:07:27

Great job getting to bed early! You guys are my inspiration there! I can't wait to hear you eating ideas, tonight at work things got hoppin' busy and before we knew it in desperation we ordered the forbidden fruit a.k.a pizza and breadsticks follow by Callzee and the husband delivering a plate of pumpkin choc chip cookies... So Lybi apparently I haven't notified my body that I should be reigning in vacation and getting back on track! ( I plead the fifth! The salad that I wanted from Subway lost out when we had to depend on delivery at the late hour!)

Oh BTW I want to hear about all the ways to torture the abs that she puts you through, I'd love to firm that up!

Christi-

I am planning to go to the track tomorrow morning at 6 if you want to come. I'm just leaving Phoenix now, so I don't know if I'll check again before then, so I'll just see ya there if you come!

Christi, I am very excited for you and I hope your trainer is everything you hope for. I am with Lybi and Michelle. I hope you will post some of the cool information you learn.

I also hope everything is falling into place for your preparation to host your parents for Thanksgiving. I can't believe November is here already.
