Hey Ya'll ! I'm back from a wonderful CA vacation! 2 days at Huntington Bch and 2 full Disney days.  No treadmill at the hotel and NO miles logged since last Friday- almost a week- yikes! I did LOTS of walking (2, 12 hr. days in Disney) so I hope that counts for something.  I have Spectrum Sat. so I'm kinda nervous since I haven't logged enough miles lately.  I'm planning on dragging myself out for a mellow 7 miler this afternoon/ evening.

Got in 6 mi. this afternoon.  Av pace 9:10.  Good news, I can still run- although it wasn't fast or pretty! Very nice afternoon, time to bust out the sleeveless shirts & shorts- it was warm! Good views, nice flat run around washington fields.

Tomorrow is Spectrum 10k.  At least I can say I'm well rested and well fed going into it. That's about where my preparation ends! The time to beat from last year is 52:34.  I'm not even going to set Gold, Silver, Bronze- just hope to beat my time, that's ambitious enough just coming off a week of vacationing and hardly any miles!  I would really like to get under 50 min for a 10k- one day- but I would have to sprout wings for that to happen tomorrow.  However, at least I'll get in a nice scenic 6 miler through Snow Canyon (love this course!) and hopefully see some bloggies.  Good luck to all you other racers & have a GREAT weekend!

WOW! The day started out rough.  I tossed & turned all night- probably from drinking a diet pepsi too close to bedtime (dumb!).  Then my stomach felt yucky, could hardly get any breakfast down.  So I was kinda nervous how it would all turn out.  I AM THRILLED!! I finally got a 10K time in the 40's! That was my ultimate goal that I really did not think would happen today.  I started out close to front of pack (6:59 1st mile) I figured I started too fast and would burn out, but I think that fast mile actually helped me make my overall time.  From there I slowed down considerably- splits were:

1- 6:59

2-8:03

3-7:36

4-8:09

5-8:18

6-8:16

last .16- 7:26

I knew I had to stay under 8 min. miles to make my goal and thanks to a great downhill course and a good mile 1 & 3, I was able to do it.  Weather was perfect.  Crowd actually seemed a bit smaller to me than last year? Good bloggie turn out! Great results from many of them: Nick, Clyde, Dave, Steve, Bill, Dustin, Lyndsey, Mike Thomas (who I met today), Mik'L, Bonnie, Ally, Linda and MARCIE took 1st in women overall- she ROCKS! Sorry, I'm sure I'm forgetting some bloggies' names- it was fun to see you all!
